For this, we need to learn from the Lord Jesus, who is our leader and perfect example (Hebrews 6:20, 1 Peter 2).
When the Lord Jesus was going to the house of a ruler to heal his daughter, He received the news that she had died. Hearing this, Jesus said,
“Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be saved.”
When He arrived at the house, He did not allow anyone to go in with Him except Peter, John, James, and the child’s parents. Everyone was weeping and mourning for her, but He said,
“Do not weep; she is not dead but asleep.”
Knowing that she was dead, they mocked Him. But Jesus took her by the hand and called out, saying,
“Child, arise!”
(Luke 8:50–54)
Before Jesus raised the little girl to life, He sent the mockers outside. He prepared the environment for a miracle.
Although we may not be able to silence or remove all mockers, we can certainly remove pride, unbelief, and weakness from our own lives.
Before praying for someone, make sure you lead them in a prayer of repentance and help them accept Jesus as their Savior.
Also, when you pray with someone, ensure that you spend some time in worship first, and then move into intercessory prayer, because this unites your heart with their spirit.
The apostle Peter learned this principle of preparing the atmosphere for miracles from his Lord and Master, Jesus Christ.
When Peter was called to pray for a woman named Dorcas, he sent everyone out, knelt down, and prayed. Then, turning toward the body, he said,
“Tabitha, arise.”She opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.(Acts 9:40)Just as the Lord Jesus removed obstacles and prepared a miraculous environment, Peter did the same. We too can learn from this and walk in the footsteps of our Lord and His great apostles.
Now let me share another truth:
“I will give you the key s of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
(Matthew 16:19)
God has given us authority to bind evil spirits in the heavenly realms.
Before praying in any place, we must take authority in the name of Jesus and bind every obstacle, every hindrance, and every evil power that prevents the manifestation of miracles.
